The Hell Creek Paleo Society (HCPS) is a brand new, non-profit organization dedicated to helping support the paleontological community of the northern Black Hills area and beyond. Our efforts are focused on the 66 million year old Hell Creek Rock Formation (of South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming), the dinosaur and paleontological resources contained within it and the people who passionately study this time period in all its intricate beauty. We hope to support original research in this area, as well as students and teachers who also share this same passion for the Earth Sciences. Membership is open to all interested parties who intend to ethically, respectfully and responsibly study fossils. We would argue that everyone, regardless of age, race, gender, cultural background, educational background, pedigree or experience can play a part in helping understand these wonderful ancient ecosystems.
